Karver Top-Down Spinnaker Furler
The tack line can be adjusted from the cockpit to
fine tune spinnaker position and shape.
Once the luff is tensioned, furling is more
efficient enabling users to drop the sail faster.
The same furler can be interchanged to use with
the full inventory of sails: Code sail, staysail, or
The only piece added compared to a standard KF
drum is the independent swivel on the top, which
helps to keep the system light.
The secret to top-down furling is to fix the head of the sail to the torsion luff-rope while leaving the foot attached to the swivel-plate above the furling drum. The sail can be raised in a minute by a single crew-member and deployed in seconds. Furling is almost as quick - the sail is depressurised quickly by the furling process and even in strong winds can be furled in under a minute, again by a single crew member.
Most asymmetrical spinnakers can be used without any need to retrofit the sail.
Available in 5 sizes, from 1.5 tons to 12 tons working load.
